Can we not use Thorium in a modern reactor? And Gallium as a coolant? Looks like the electricity wars are going to continue with a net result of political and consequent investment paralysis. I think I'll just use solar and batteries at home and stay out of it all.

Such technical questions ignore that the cost of major projects by governments are always a multiple of govt. estimates (Snowy 2.0 is > 6 times it’s estimate) and this can’t possibly be built in time. Plus see how many nuclear accidents have happened at Sellefield. But I’m just a big project expert

I've worked with guys that had been Snowy 2.0 and heard of a ton of issues. I completely agree that any Lib 'model' price given now is so inaccurate for a future project, given so many variables. I'm not anti nuclear per se and certainly not anti-renewable, just want the best for our country.
