While this case involves performative and not real violence, I also think real violence would be 100% morally justifiable in the face of a literal fascist dictatorship literally militarily occupying your city. I don't think this should even be ethically controversial, unless you're a pure pacifist.
Yes, but it can also be dangerous. Besides the chance you might end up in federal prison (like even this guy might since the system is corrupt), it can also escalate a situation and endanger bystanders that the thugs had been leaving alone. Anyone planning violence should know what they're doing.

That's absolutely true. And I've read the empirical evidence says that in the face of dictatorship, militant mass nonviolence succeeds more often than violence, and more often produces good results. But I also see that in the case of the US, following the rules has utterly and indisputably failed.
