I'm sure Newsom's office is trolling the failed mainstream media for ignoring the insanity of Trump's posts. I don't believe there is any intention to change even one MAGA moron's vote. If any media outlet stops normalizing Trump's posts after having them thrown back in their face, that is a win.

Honestly I haven't contacted the press office to know what their goal is. I've voted for Gavin many times but know he's not perfect. He's managed to get the anti-Texas gerrymander onto the November ballot so that is definitely consequential. More could be and needs to be done for sure, by all of us.
