My dog is barking at one over the fence as I type. She does her best to keep them out of the yard. Mini aussie needs a job 😉 and with luck it might keep one of the Papillions from being trampled.

Yeah, my sister-in-law lost control of her little dog and it ran and tried to attack one of the bucks. The dog lived, but there was quite the vet bill

We were lucky. My wife had a rake or something in her hand and chased it off of our oldest girl. The hoof grazed her side but not deep enough to require a vet. Scrapped the skin off a little. That was before the aussie. They haven't gotten her yet. They won't.

Whereas my labrador looks at the deer and the turkeys and anything else in the yard, and you can see her shrug.

All 5 of ours go bonkers. Four of them almost add up to a dog. The big one is 7lbs.

She worries them and generally herds them to the opposite fence.

I think the ones in my neighborhood are spoiled! I never see them eating grass, only decorative plants that we would really prefer that they did not! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My grass lawn is not short & has a mix of lots of clover & other wild seeds. Deer are kept off the other plants with a electric fencer.

Ah! Tall grass is a fire hazard around here and the neighbors would be sure to have something to say to me. And I've decided that I can share the rest of my plants with them

We got bucks that visit for watermelon scraps and fresh water. They are like Big Dogs !

It’s from our bedroom window. He still has his fuzzy rack. We enjoy watching them and after they figure out that you are no harm they don’t mind hanging around.

Yes it's great when I get to talk to them often enough that they no longer run out of the yard when I go out to empty the garbage

Mule Deer?

As far as I can tell, yes. I think that's the only kind we get around here?

That's cool. I've always lived in the Mid Atlantic, so it's only Whitetail. Never saw a Mule Deer in person
