This image is a meme featuring a series of panels from a popular reality TV show, depicting a heated argument between two men. The conversation is humorously captioned to discuss communism and China's economic policies. 1. First Panel: An older man with a mustache is angrily gesturing, with the caption

China's not a role model. They lifted people out of poverty but continue capitalist exploitation, just barring international capitalists from interfering with local industry. The workers must own their means of production, not just replace the private owner with the governmental owner

Yo I am a HARD leftist, as well as a propaganda historian. My area of specialty is 20th century China. Adapt policies, sure. Does China today behave as a communist state- no. But when you say lifting folks out of poverty, you can’t just gloss over the millions who died of starvation.

Those were all people. And their lives were forfeit for the glory of wealth to outdo the West, and succeeded because of information manipulation and cult leadership. Did things ‘get better,’? Yes, if you are viewing things from a capitalistic perspective. But for many, things didn’t. They starved

You are not going to sell me on the forced starvation of anyone to ‘improve’ things. We don’t kill some people and go, “the ends justify the means. 🤷 “ It’s class genocide. Y’all are going so far left you’re circling to the right. Please tell me you see this.

I mean the policy that lifted those people out of poverty was to abandon the dumb policies that put them there in the first place. It's not like China's poverty rates are stellar in any case, as millions are still in poverty

Some of their policies are not that different from U.S American Republican on social and environmental , when they first started. They are lesser socialist like social democrats. The U.S has very similar economics to china just saying.
