I’m a leftist who works towards class solidarity. All I see with other leftists is a gatekeeping and shaming others who don’t adhere to their purity tests. Solidarity=working together, not showing off how “right” you are. You want to unify others? Stop bullying people who don’t agree with you.

I think there are many well intended people who believe that voting for one candidate over the other is more about harm reduction for marginalized people. The two party system doesn’t work in the US and I think we need to see many democratic voters as hostages to the system.
If they decide to let the system shoot some of the hostages though, and I am one of those hostages who is going to be shot, what do they expect? A thank you? A “I agree, my life isn’t worth the cost of saving?” Of course I’m going to yell at them not to let them kill me

I haven’t personally seen anyone I follow acting that way based solely on whether they voted for Harris I have, however, been had multiple people say that if I don’t vote for Gavin Newsom over his explicitly anti-science and anti-trans positions that “I deserve the death camps” for “being stupid”

I don't know any leftist (by which I mean anarchist or Marxist) writing anybody off because they voted for Harris. Nobody did harm by voting for Harris. I see a lot of Dems screaming at abstainers and 3rd-party voters, though, as if their vote was *owed*. This happens every time they lose.
And what has happened is that a bunch of people who feel like their material concerns are no longer represented in any way by the Democratic party are responding with extreme hostility to the screaming that they owe their vote to people who aren't even willing to help keep them alive.
So if a Harris voter is like "oh cool, you didn't vote, I totally understand why you'd think that the party and electorialism has failed you" or "oh, I understand why you voted Green, given that they perfectly align with your electoral views"... okay, let's talk. But that's not the usual response.

It's what happens when you have bunch of passionate people together. I see this with engineers all the time. Trick is to focus on the 1 issue we all agree can be solved today. It doesn't deminish other issues. We just need to go through things we can change first.

For me, I don't care too much about specific ideologies, and generally am like "if you want to help others, that's good in my book". The only "purity" I have is if the person is willing to throw others under the bus. If you can excuse bigotry, that's not cool.
