That's funny, people are already dying, because money has been diverted to trump's projects. We'll, they can feel better about their children being washed away knowing the money that could have been used to save their kids was used to build a camp for migrants.

This reminds me of what happened in California at the Camp Fire. No one expected the fire to grow so quickly. Warnings weren't observed and evacuation orders were ignored. But all of them should have come earlier. 85 people died. California studied what happened and improved.

I watched "faith" "leaders" literally give up any semblance of teaching correct doctrine in the 2015; threw caution to the wind; and started promoting the OBVIOUS heresy of Christian Nationalism. I listened to one denounce church doctrine as "out there" during an endorsement of Trump It's a cult.

I think we need to have a conversation about situational awareness. People need to at least have one clue about what's going on where they are. Show at least a tiny bit of curiosity. But most warnings go unheard because people don't know what a NOAA weather radio is, and don't care.

EXACTLY!! Yhank you for posting this. The NWS puts out accurate forecasts. It's up to local, county, state govt officials to act upon those warnings and evacuate people. It's NOT THE NWS JOB TO EVACUATE PEOPLE!! FFS

I live in this area but much farther to the east where it wasn’t too bad but the warnings from the NWS were frightening. It has taken a terrible toll on that area and recovery has been slow. I remember people complaining about FEMA. I think a lot thought that one would have done a better job.

Remember: when the GOP had ample warning about Katrina they did..... nothing. Yes TX is red, but the ppl killed weren't not ultra wealthy personal friends of the kkkabinet. Regular ppl don't matter to the GOP. Once we remember that, everything makes sense again
