When I was in Budapest there was a place with a weekday all you can eat/all you can drink (beer only) special from 11-6 and me and some friends once spent 11-6 there pushing the limits

I went on Alaskan cruise last month, and the food on cruises is basically all you can eat, and I ate reasonable amounts of food at each meal. Here’s a lunch I took back to my room to eat on the balcony. All you can eat can still be good even if you don’t eat all you can eat.

Round wooden table with two small sandwiches, a very small dessert, a water bottle, and a napkin rolled up with silverware. The table is on a cruise ship balcony, and water and sky are visible in the background.

Yeah, I usually eat less than a typical American entree in a single meal. So I’d rather pay for an entree and leave comfortably full with leftovers, rather than stuff myself so I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth at a buffet/all you can eat situation.

The exception is that I always love infinite bread.

when I was in college the school was very insistent on referring to any buffet-style event as "all you care to eat" in what I guess was a well-intentioned attempt to curb eating disorders.
