In addition to being morally wrong, I don't think these moves are good for business. Who do they think they're appealing to? I don't think it's realistic that more conservative readers are going to start like WaPo more. Maybe Bezos just doesn't care.

I think at this point it's safe to say the destruction is intentional. Bezos didn't buy it to make it profitable. He bought it to shut down an institution that used to keep Americans informed of what people like him are up to.

Yeah, I think that's a very reasonable conclusion at this point. I don't know if Bezos intended to kill WaPo as an independent entity when he bought it, but I think he's happy to do that now.

Perhaps good for business short term, or his other businesses. Bezo's problem is that he's blind to the long term value of an institution like WP. He liked being the "savior" of it, but isn't interested in its survival as an institution.
