I think you're being overly charitable. MAGA is happy to pay this tax because they've totally brainwashed themselves into believing that whatever Trump does is good. Real world results do not matter. These are people who happily died by the tens of thousands to stick it to the libs during COVID
Personally, I feel not nearly enough died. How's that for charitable? And yes, as I posted elsewhere what they believe is much more important that what is, so there's no real benefit to analyzing actual facts about restoring. However, any grain of truth will only harden their religion.
