So it's kind of like what they think of as socialism, but like, maybe, a national kind?
So it's kind of like what they think of as socialism, but like, maybe, a national kind?
Nationalized socialism
I thought Democrats were the communists. Turns out it's the Trumptards.
is there a name for that, or...?
Kinda
Look out Boeing.
What cracks me up is that at first glance, at least, it looks like what in Canada I think is still called a "Crown corporation" I remember growing up in the 80s, there was a fever for privatizing Crown corporations, with Mulroney's neoliberal government selling off huge chunks of the public sector
So Trump is moving in the opposite direction, snapping up corporate equity with the public purse, and yet no one in the Republican Party -- historic defenders of the free market -- seems particularly worked up about it (I mean, I guess we'll need to check in with Rand Paul, see if he's doing OK)
It's not socialism if they privatise the government. 🤔
Reminds of the Star Trek episode where they land in a planet emulating gangsters. The Federation got “a piece of the action”.
@atrupar.com Oh, it's the laughing asshole.
Gosh, that rings a bell. I wonder if anyone has ever tried this corporations intertwining with government arrangement?
Can you see it now? Government owns all the vital businesses as in Russia.
Not socialism, since there's no intention of helping people. It's more like a mob-boss using threats to force people to sign over their businesses.
Oh I know, I was making a Nazi wish-it-was-a-joke.
Nevermind socialism, If Harris had done this, the GOP would be calling it communism and calling here Comrade Kamala. The GOPs complete lack of shame is mind boggling.
They called her a Communist anyway and she might as well be a Republican for all her economic ideology. Joe and the majority of the Democratic party have been Republican lite for my entire existence of 45 years. Obama barely got Medicaid expansion passed and then it was mutilated.
Why does Bluesky have the most non joke recognizing user base on earth :/ well done anyway
Get ready for “Dow 3,600.”
2010: The government shouldn't be picking winners and losers 2025: Renewable energy is illegal and the government owns making computers
I thought MAGA hated Socialism?!? Hmmmm…..where’s the outrage now? 🤨
Yes … with a smidgen of Russian sauce.
Why attribute this to a political motivation? This is pure extortion. The mafia does this stuff all the time and no one calls them socialist.
I'm honestly saddened to see how many folks didn't get this at all...
Jesus, he really is going to Pinochet us
(I know Pinochet privatized everything and was not a communist, but it seems like Trump is running the U.S. like *his* business, not *a* business, which kinda complicates the commie connection imo)
The Grinning Psychopath says we're going socialist! Let's get that sweet single payer socialist healthcare insurance going then!
I see what you did there
Looks more like #Putin #authoritarianism. #Putin owns everything in #Russia.
That's not true. Our friend Vlad doesn't own Ukraine... yet. (But when he gets there, Mad King Donald has a lease-option.)
It's not socialism; it's a protection racket. Tribute to the king.
Isn't that communism?
Bellamy Salutes will be coming soon to a school near you
We've come full circle in less than a century. Shameful!
Its a very special case, but expect it to happen more often. FUCK THES NAZI FUCKS. THIS IS FASCISM.
The chairman enters....
I see it as these companies actually paying taxes. They're probably not used to having to do that and just having it their way
Government ownership of businesses is communism. Where they might deem to share the wealth but most likely not.
National Socialist for sure.
So, so obtuse
definitely not democratic socialism
This regime has no plans on leaving office in 2028. It cannot be any more obvious. Yet the legacy media seems to not give a shit.
Mr Putin told him how to do it
Isn’t this the root of Marxism-Leninism is state control by ownership of what were private entities?
When can I sell my Intel shares since WE own it? I don't want anything to do with a corporation that succumbs to the whims of trump.
The government owns the means of production.
Is it me, or does this look like, hmmmm, Putin Russia?
All I know is progressive should all jointly release a statement saying how awesome it is Trump is finally joining them in advancing socialism in this country.
The next Democratic president, is that happens, will be free to nationalize the healthcare and insurance industries?
China will be so proud of trump !!!!
The taxpayers receive TAXES. But hassent knows that
Finally found those commies that they keep talking about!
It’s socialism Jim, but not how WE know it!
Definitely the national kind
I thought socialism / nationalism was inherently evil to Americans?
Why don’t we just tax corporations their fair share - the American people would reap the rewards from that? Oh yeah, cause it’s about power and control. It’s not about helping the people.
And his stupid cult will applaud this while continuing to accuse Democrats of socialism.
They could call themselves NASOs and maybe, just spitballing here, get matching suits.
We are so lucky to have a national socialist party, and to celebrate, we need a new logo. Keep it simple, maybe an X but then if you draw lines at 90-degree angles from each end part of the X, it sort of looks like a good luck four-leaf clover.
Is that not what kleptocrats or mobsters do? You want to operate a business you have to give up a share?
Here's the thing, when a gleeful Kevin Hassett smiles while man-splaining the benefits of the US Government owning shares in US Companies, I get more than a little suspicious. I mean, Trump being that benevolent overlord that Voltaire talked about really gives me pause.
www.msn.com/en-us/money/...
Equity stakes? That’s what that’s called now.
Government controlling tje means of production, that skips right past Socialism straight to Communism
Communism. Govt owns businesses.
Un-American Traitors in the White House.
Russian playbook

I really don't know what you are thinking of
Our beloved Taco Fuhrer.
Everything the Trump administration knows about capitalism they learned from Putin.
That’s such a long term. Perhaps there’s a shorter version that gets the point across?
What’s the opposite of socialism? Right, coercing shares out of businesses on behalf of a single person rather than the collective good. Mafia state.
It's outright expropriation.
I know I learned a name for that in school, it's right on the tip of my tongue, can't place it...
I feel like there was a movement headed by a "charismatic" guy somewhere in Europe that implemented these things. Gosh, wish history was taught better.
The guy was a painter, too. On canvas, though. Not his face.
Nice
To be fair, Trump has expanded his makeup game to his hand as well.
Was it “Z”? No, it was not.
Certifiably 'Pinko'.
More like the Mafia.
Hmm, sounds novel. Has anyone coined a word for that?
It’s extortion.
