Will “yes-and” this to say that I think the anti-idpol left’s antagonism toward feminism is more acute and impassioned than its de facto suspicion & impatience with other identity-based liberation movements. They see feminism as particularly corrupt and suspect.

it’s compounded by an unfortunate thread through the labor movement that doesn’t recognize women as workers at all, simply the mechanism to breed more. like a Find + Replace of quiverfull rhetoric

Here's my understanding: "Identity politics" has to do with belonging to a specific group, & advocating for their rights. The Left has a balancing act to maintain and manage: create a big tent and include all Americans, and also see and understand and advocate for these deserving individual groups.

Whatever other groups they might belong to, I truly believe women generally are at a massive disadvantage right now, just as women. So much toxic masculinity dripping from the walls, polluting the air, drowning out our voices.

Thanks for noticing, that's great. Absolutely. Very dangerous time for women

That is a problem, because the groups seem to think that their rights should come at the expense of others right now, all around the board lol

Yeah, unfortunately that's right. I live in a moderate-sized city, and there's a lot of big-fish-in-a-little -pond syndrome: people are used to their slice of the pie (power, money, etc) and don't want to open up to anyone else.

But not just that. Look at the women who voted for Trump just over the trans topic. I discuss that a lot on here, and people really don't understand each other on either side, they dehumanize each other. It will never resolve in peace this way. I fear for the minority side on that one

there is a socially conservative strain among some anti capitalist men that have very similar views on marriage and motherhood as any other conservative. anti-abortion, anti-LGBT, only really see men as workers and therefore part of the working class, whereas women are for breeding more workers
