This isn’t about religion. This a land grab by Israel, an ethnostate, using ethnic cleansing and genocide as a means to that end. People may use religion to convince themselves it’s something other than a land grab - but it is not. It’s a violent and illegal land grab using our tax dollars.

Yeah, an ethnostate that is Jewish and Sunni Islamic religion predominant in Gaza and the Jews feel entitled to it BECAUSE of THEIR religion. At its historical core it IS a clash of religions. The original Jewish landgrab was also about religion, but I agree they shouldn’t use our tax dollars.

While I agree with you that historically religion played a larger role - which is true for most of our conflicts - and a lot of our history is plugged into our cultural DNA, i think it does a disservice to the sheer greed and primitive rage that drives modern genocide.

The founders of Israel were mostly quite secular

That’s really a lot of bullshit: the secular Zionists worked to establish a safe haven where a religious expression of Judaism could freely exist. So the founders may have been secular to a degree, but their purpose was to make an enclave for the Jewish religion

And the founders of USA were mostly secular. How is that panning out in reality? Is it relevant to today?

It’s very relevant. Many secular forces back the worst evils in both countries. Yair Lapid, Elon Musk, &c.

Still not seeing your point. Good luck out there!

Thank you. I will need lots of luck explaining why the presence of prominent secular people and political parties supporting a war is evidence that the war cannot accurately be described as a religious war
