Why don’t governors activate their national guards to protect immigrants (and those wrongly identified as such)? Couldn’t they be the ones to demand proof of valid judicial warrants…AND proof that the “agents” are legit? It’s only natural for folks to resist masked marauders.

I believe there’s a legal concern that the Executive branch (Trump) would try to federalize an activated state national guard and assume control of it. Essentially, activating the local national guard could just give him more troops if the courts agree

So use state and local police. State and local police can demand ID from the masked marauders and detain the marauders if they fail to comply.
