Dayumm, is it breeding season as well?
Dayumm, is it breeding season as well?
Nature is beautiful.
My spirit animal. Thank you.🐢
Magnificent photo.
Overheard behind Mr. Turtle... "You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay."
That's really wild - pun intended. 🐢 Sadly, FL is no longer a good place for humans. 😔
The turtles shall inherit the earth.
This is stunning and it moved me. The energy I feel just watching it almost made me weep. Thanks for sharing. ✌🏼
😊
So beautiful 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
I like turtles
Wow
Nice...
Holy crap! Is that normal behavior for Rays? There must be a million of them.
Just Magnificent! 💛 🐢💛
Wow that’s a lot of rays!
I do not think there are salt water snapping turtles so if you do not look like you are a threat to the turtle then you can swim with it. Just don't touch the turtle.
Did anyone see her get out the water ?
What the hell is a Cownose Ray?
Those are just weird looking.😂 I'm assuming they are armed with some sort of barbed tail that is only used when the ray feels threatened. Nature never ceases to amaze me.
The majority of the ones you pay $10 for 3 fish to feed to at Seaworld. They're mostly Cownose rays.
Love this ☺️
Wow. Stunning
That’s an impressive “group”!
So the turtle went down to the beach to catch some rays. He did good. What a beautiful place the world is.
That’s soooo beautiful. 🐢
I have such a special place in my heart for these beautiful creatures !
That’s some group!
Oh, Wow !
Love to watch the fishermen when they see a struggling turtle, catch it and give it a good clean up. Removing the barnacles and seaweed. Should be good for another 5 or 6 years to the next Turtle service.
I see lots of videos of people freeing dolphins, seals, sharks, & turtles from netting. I don't post them because I know I'll get a ton of people commenting on how we're responsible, which I am well aware of. 🙄
I’d be on your side. Not everyone takes advantage and leaves the sea full of toxic waste and rubbish. Need a bit more high profile recognition of the extent some go to in redressing the balance. Hopefully the dissenters will think twice next time they throw rubbish away…except they won’t !
Thank you Stevie, you make Bluesky a better place. 😄
Would never say I’m an eco warrior, but I always try to be aware of not leaving a place in a worse state than when I found it. It’s not rocket science to pick up rubbish. It doesn’t even need to cost anything. Just think of the environment, the wildlife and the next person.

I don't think "group" is the right word; that's a lot of Rays 😊
Beautiful❤️

"follow me to the best seafood in town!"
So freaking beautiful 🤩.
One side of my brain: "How beautiful!" Other side of my brain: "aaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAaaaaa (deep breath) AAAAAAAAAA"
A group of? You mean all the rays
I need to get out more. This was the only interesting creature I’ve seen this weekend
we really need to stop ruining this place
That looks like a nice life. I could do that.
Wow!! So many that's crazy.
👏 Just awesome! 🫶
Wow!
Wow that’s a lot of rays
Are they mating?
W.t.f… incredible
We were wade fishing near the boat cut off Bolivar near Galveston, TX in waste deep water with a monster school of the cow-nosed rays went right past us. There we so many of them it seemed to last forever. It was an amazing experience.
Wow, what an incredible experience.
“waste deep water” says it all re Galveston Bay
Did they touch you?
Wow! Thanks for sharing.
A look at the life cycle of Leatherback Sea Turtles and the threats that they face as a result of Human interaction and how declining numbers of Leatherbacks may in turn have a direct effect on Humans even if they never see each other. youtu.be/mGhP6FxELmo
Wholly Hannah that’s not a group that’s a an inauguration crowd for Obama!
😂
Do these rays typically congregate in this way? Wow. So many rays.
😯
What an amazing clip
Wow
Phenomenal! I’ve never seen so many rays in one place
i used to live near there. i miss the gulf.
I was a volunteer for Fish & Wildlife on Pueto Rico. We would sit and watch for the turtles to come ashore and lay eggs. We would then measure the turles, dig up the eggs and move them to the Navy Base that was still open to protect the eggs from people stealing them.
Very cool! My cousin just retired from Fish & Wildlife. When she lived in Florida she'd fly around counting animals in the Keys.
So when the eggs grew up and returned, which place would they go?
What was done for hatching? I was told that sea turtle hatchlings needed the experience of crawling across the beach into the water, or else they wouldn’t be able to find their way back to the beach to lay eggs.
You are right....the eggs were place on a BEACH area of the former Roosevelt Roads navy base....there was an UNMARKED building near where the eggs were reburied....the building housed the NAVY SEALS and so NO ONE was stupid enough to try to steal the eggs...the turtles come back to that very beach.
Why would people steal them? Pets?
same old shit...the eggs, which back in '89 sold for $4 each, are thought to be an aphrodisiac. So as a former Combat Vet, I was allowed to have a Weapon to guard the volunteers for when the turtles came ashore...THEN we moved the eggs to the Navy Base so no one could dig them up.
Unfortunately a lot of Caribbean islands still hunt them for food
If they are caught doing so on Puerto Rico they get at least a 20 year prison sentence, and a prison on Puerto Rico is not like the ones in the USA mainland....
Love sea turtles
Wow!
"He is the one!" "Leads the way!" "Follow- Follow-"
Turtle: Follow me guys to somewhere WAY better than floriduh! 1 billion rays: Right behind ya!
I'm from Clearwater!! That's very cool 😎

A "group of rays"? We're being invaded!
Incredible.

Amazing. Sea Turtles are just beautiful. Thank you for posting.
That’s impressive
A bunch of Cownose Rays’? What an understatement!!
Lovely.:)
What a party.
You guys are boring I'm finding a livelier group!
Wow 😳😳
'A group'? Isn't that, like, all of them?
Its calked a “fever” of sea rays ! Gorgeous aren’t they?
❤️🙏😁 THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD JESUS CHRIST, SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE SAVED IN JESUS 💗 🙏, AND DO NOT EAT ANY MEAT RIGHT NOW, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED💔🥺
Wow!!
💚
Awesome
Wow, that is wild!
The turtle was singing "Come Sail Away" by Styx. I mean, what kind of turtle WOULDN'T follow along?
I screwed that up.
But I still read it as you meant it, so no worries! 😉
The important thing is now the Styx iconic song "Come Sail Away"is stuck in your head. They said, "Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me Come sail away, come sail away Come sail away with me, Come sail away, come sail away
I'm kinda ok with that. 😉
It's always better when you do it in a Cartman voice.
💯🤣
Mesmerizing
I love the bio diversity in the #GulfofMexico!
Would that be a herd of Cownose Rays?
Love turtles!❤️
That's a lotta rays
💙
Nature is wonderful
Everyone getting along 😻
Are they friends?
A "group"? That's a "solar flare" of rays ... Sure hope they have a permit - don't want the FL National Guard to get involved ...
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
A group? Looks like the whole damn population! 😜
Great timing, thanks for sharing.
It’s Crush!
Awesome .. made me look up what you call a group of rays .. AI says a fever or squadron .. as they look like they are flying, I prefer the latter!! :)
“Squadron” really capture it!
Wow!
How incredible ❤️
Holy shit! Do cownose rays have conventions in Florida like the rest of us?
