If you didn’t get the 2024-2025 booster last fall, you can get it now — but if you already got it, they won’t let you get another one unless you’re immunocompromised. Which is idiotic, because the protection wears off after like 4 months. We should all be able to get boosters at least twice a year.

Oh wow, I did not know that! I did get the booster last fall, so I can't even get one until the new ones come out? I could have sworn I've read we could still get the old one even if not immunocompromised. That was a couple of weeks ago though.

My husband and I tried to get boosters right after RFK Jr. was put in charge; the CVS pharmacist told us we didn’t qualify because we’d already gotten that formulation and we weren’t immunocompromised. Only one shot per year is allowed unless you’ve got, like, cancer or something.

Oh dang. I had no idea, and like I said thought I had read somewhere we could get the old version. Thanks for letting me know, this truly is awful.

Now… if you basically lie about your identity, pretend not to have health insurance, and pay out of pocket, you could do it. But that’s… not ideal, obviously. It might be better to just wait and see how this situation shakes out. And in the meantime, wear N95 or KN95 respirators in public spaces.
