So think ill go with an outback, but putting it on the back burner for now. Will wait for the right deal.

Subies are the best!
We love our Outbacks! We got one about 8 years ago and just got a Wilderness Edition Outback earlier this summer. Great vehicles! Good luck finding your next car!
Love mine! It’s a 22, I bought it in 21 when vehicles were scarce. But I found the one I wanted, and have 0 regrets.
Usually the end of the year is the best time to make a deal. The end of the month is better, too. The salespeople have quotas to make. Good luck.
Yeah, no dealing this month. They are amazed when i walk out saying I'm in no hurry, cars are being traded in every day. Will the 2024-2025s drop in price in the last quarter?
I don’t know.
I love my Subie. I was a Saabaholic ( had 6) before they stopped being made. Subaru is a nice replacement.
Leased my outback Feb. 29, 2020 and drove it practically nowhere during Covid. Bought out the lease in 2023. It still only has 40000 miles. This is my 2nd Subaru. So reliable and really great in the snow. Wish you luck finding what you’re looking for and at the terms you want.
I have a white 2020 Outback that I have never had any problems with at all. Love my Subaru. I have been so happy with this purchase 5 years out. Plan to drive it until it gives up the ghost.
I LOVED our Outback. It's what I'm thinking about getting back into. Never met a snowstorm it couldn't handle. It was awesome.
Learned a neat deal when I traded in a beat-up Civic at a Honda dealership for a CrossTrek they had on the lot & got more than the Civic was worth tbf. Note for future purchases - look for my used Tacoma at a Subaru dealership when the time comes! 😄
How did you get a fair trade in? My experience has been that you basically need to go to the same manufacturer to get the best deal. I have a GMC, so GM dealers offer good trade ins. Others, nope.
I'd like to OWN a Tacoma next, so I was saying I should hope there's one for sale at a Subaru dealership when the time comes to trade in my CrossTrek. 😁
That's the bit, basically. 🫤 I traded a Honda at a Honda dealership, so I got more for the [POS]. I wouldn't have received nearly as much at a Subaru dealer, for example. (The CT was a used car on the Honda dealership's lot.)
CVT transmission reliability and blown head gaskets are a 'no' for me.
Not sure about the transmission, but my mechanic said that as long as you keep up on the oil changes and maintenance, it sh be fine
Best car. I’ve owned 3. I was in a pretty serious accident and walked away without a scratch. What I would emphasize is the safety of the outback is outstanding.
Thank you. Im having a bit of trouble parking the demos I've tried. Been reading up on how to use hood and mirror location to assess distance. No problem with the Forester, so its the longer hoid thats throwing me.
That's what I drive. For some reason I'm not emotionally attached to it, but it has been reliable. I paid way too much for it two years ago when inventory was really low (low enough that my choices were blue and red).
Id like silver or red
I wanted white or silver or grey. Green. Blue and red and black were not on my list. I'm one of a zillion, though. There are plenty of red Outbacks up here
There's a warranty extension on the entertainment system. It just randomly... stops working. Literally goes dark. I'll be glad when manufacturers go back to knobs and dials. I don't like having to "read" the screen to turn the fan down or whatever
Yeah, that problem dates to 2018. Bought a Forester, entertainment was possessed. Would randomly turn on or change stations. There was a class action cuz Subaru was denying, gaslighting ppl about it. Still not fixed, huh? Heard modern cars entertainment systems are tied into electrical/computer sys
Not as of model year 22 anyway
Do you have navigation? Id like that but many models dont have it. They say to just mirror your phone to the screen. Wonder how well that works.
No, I just plug in my phone an use it
Thats what I've always done, but the bewer models have that big screen, and one sales person told me you can mirror your phone to it for navigation.
Great car.
I was looking for a new car for my wife and that's just not going to happen. Not now anyway, we'll see next year. Good luck with your search.
Yeah, really stuck. They offer low financing on new, but you get depreciation. Buy used, already depreciated, and pay high interest. Comes out the same either way. Glad I nailed down what will work and that may eventually be affordable. Gonna save more cash for now.
Save more, keep a search on. Soon you'll meet in the middle
Yep, got 3 dealers who know what i want and i like all 3 salespeople.
Haha- and if you set it up on Autotrader and find something a bit far away they should be able to nab it for you.
I looked at a Chevy, 1.9% for three years, $1300 a month. No thanks.
Yeah, Outback is .9 for 3 years new. I was offered 4.29 on certified used, but still ...
Uh huh, and I've got a 830+ so the credit union will give me 4.5% for 72 months, but that makes a 35k car 55k. Still no.
Yep. And still nope.
Might want to recheck that math.
Excellent choice! I know they’re running some nice specials on the 25’s now that the 26’s are out… was half-tempted to trade my ‘22 in for one just for the lower interest rate 😂🫣
If u are a high mileage driver u may want to rethink buying a subaru. Major expensive engine overhauls almost always needed at +/- 100k miles. If u drive 90k miles over ten years ull prob be happy. Subarus are great cars for the power, ride, safety and weather worthiness!
Thank you. I dont keep vehicles much past 70k.
Outstanding vehicles. Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.
We love our outback.
I like my ‘17 that’s still going strong with minimal issues. Bought through Carmax and I think they gave me a fair deal. The only thing they try to up-sell you on is extra warranties.
Funny you should mention the warranties ~~ Bought my '17 CT in the depths of '20, no test drives allowed. Got 2.99%/72 mos. and TOOK the upsell warranty because I had only seen the thing online & my Civic just died. Three failed hubs & it paid for itself. 😳
I had t2 my mechanic and he said take the warranty on whatever i buy
Got a Forester, approaching 200k and just keeps going…love it!!
Didn't like my 2018 forester. Handled nice, but too lightweight, like a tin can. Never felt safe on wet pavement. Noisy, too.
A little noisy, I’ll give you that…but handles great in the snow!
Wow, i didnt feel that mine did, as it was so lightweight.
Lightweight is good as it’s less weight for the brakes to bring to a stop. Get better tires on your current vehicle if you feel the same.
WRXs are excellent in the snow and they are not at all heavy. Same goes for the Impreza (RIP).
Several of my friends drive Outbacks; they all love them! Bonus: two German Shepherd sized dogs fit well in the back. 😉
THANK YOU!!!! I have 1 GSD and one 50# elkie, and it looked like a nice fit and easy enough to get into.
I had the first crosstrek and an Outback. Get the crosstrek.
I need more cargo space
I think the Outback is very much the CrossTrek of Foresters. Good choice. 👍
