The vast majority of non-Trumpers, for 14 years, have coddled Trumpers. We have forgiven them in advance, and invited them over for the usual social functions. And this is permission. We've been giving them permission all along. We're complicit with normalizing this depravity.

The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom (1963): Approximately 250,000 people gathered near the Lincoln Memorial to protest racial inequalities and support civil rights legislation. The march significantly influenced the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Baltic Way, a peaceful protest in 1989 where approximately two million people joined hands to form a human chain spanning 430 mi across the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania protesting Soviet occupation. This peaceful demonstration highlighted the Baltic states' desire for independence, which they achieved by 1991. The People Power Revolution (1986): Also known as the EDSA Revolution in the Philippines, this series of demonstrations led to the ousting of President Ferdinand Marcos and the restoration of democracy in the country. Women's Suffrage Parade (1913): On March 3, 1913, thousands marched in Washington, D.C., advocating for women's right to vote. This demonstration was pivotal in raising public awareness and support, contributing to the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which granted women the right to vote.

You can point to a SMALL NUMBER of protests that actually had a measurable influence on something. And usually, that influence only happened because they were backed up by voting in people who were actually willing to do what the protesters wanted. So in the end, VOTES get stuff done, not protest.

The problem with this twisted thing is: a politician job is voting laws not sheriff them.

True. And the Executive Branch is to carry out those laws - “faithfully execute” them. But MAGA thinks electing someone as President means they get to just rule, do whatever they want. And GOP complicity is now complete. They’re too afraid do anything much less stand up to him. It’s mob rule.

If only a dozen of them stepped forward as a group to push back! There are rich Dems that would pay for their security.

Worked for an abortion clinic in the early 1980’s in DC. It was quite the scene 5 blocks from the WH. Limousines, Elizabeth Arden red doors, newly homeless everywhere and bomb threats. Evacuated 3 times at least.

I probably watch too much TV, but have long assumed that Congresspeople regularly receive envelopes w/ pics of their kids or grandkids in rifle sights & other plausible threats. With that much at stake & ruthless murderous creeps involved, I'd expect it. So they need enough cover to do what's right.

I mean, this demonstrates their weakness. If a sitting United States senator is afraid of getting killed with all their resources for protection and they can’t stand up against the HHS secretary nominee who will bring biblical plagues down upon us then what is the point of them?

If they won't represent you then you shouldn't have to pay taxes. No taxation without representation.

A tiny anti-death penalty protest I regularly attended in Oklahoma 25 years ago received death threats on occasion. Police always stationed a car nearby for our protection.

LOL! You poor child. When you're worn out from changing things you can't maybe you'll learn how to deal with them. Homo sapiens are not the delightful creature you imagine them to be.

They are not now, nor have they ever been, “pro-life,” only pro-birth. After that, you’re on your own until you kick it.
