Well, that wouldn't be the case because the Mayor can fire those officers. If the Mayor refuses to fire those officers, the Governor would have grounds to fire the Mayor. It is not realistic to assume that a Governor would just sit by and let the police take over the state.

Ok, and once the police have been fired, and they still won't arrest ICE, what then? And what if Trump sends in the National Guard and arrests the Governor and Mayor? What's the next step?

The next step is the same as it has always been - the people must remove the tyrant from power using the inalienable rights guaranteed by God and the Constitution.

Yes, and hopefully with great success! However, that is the Syria / Burma model. Do we think people are up for that? I honestly have no idea....

In the scenario you have described, they won't have a choice.

2.7% of Syrians died in that war. That would be 9 million Americans, my god! 😯😯 Let's hope it's more like when the Ukrainians got rid of their dictator 🙏🙏🙏

True, but their military didn't have anything like the weapons yours has. Let's be honest, a local armed militia wouldn't last 5 minutes against the US military...

The military is already fractured and demoralized just from this initial occupation of DC and LA (and that was under the original pretense of assisting with deportations). A full-on assault on the citizenry will result in even more fracturing.

Yes, a lot of dynamics at work. There must be a lot of black and latino soldiers as well who, you'd imagine, are not on board with Maga. They're replacing the senior leadership, but Maga also have the risk of soldiers saying No! You wonder what conversations they're having as they...

There is an extraordinary difference between patrolling the streets in a foreign land, and patrolling the streets against your own people. Especially once your own people fight back. Additionally, the US is unique in how baked-in to our culture is the idea that this kind of thing is Communist.

..wander around LA doing, let's be honest, fuck all. They've trained very hard to fight conventional wars, and you can imagine quite a few asking "what exactly are we doing here??"
