If he were doing that and weren't an evil freak with wyrms dripping from his nose, he wouldn't need to go out of his way to signal his allegiance with the far right on the question of trans folks. He could do it on irrelevant shit like patriotism or whatever. Instead he's validating their bigotry.

Validating their bigotry is not strategically useful, it's not part of a viable political strategy. Why would the bigots pick skim fascism when full fat fascism is in the table? Your strategy is to sacrifice trans people. That isn't acceptable, nor is it going to work.
