A goldfinch made a bouncy flight above the front garden and alighted on an aerial two doors down to sing. Followed by a second goldfinch similarly overflying. At the same time a jackdaw strode the roof just above the gutter looking down intently.

πππ€π€β€οΈπΆπ¦ Also, a pair kept me company in the garden in the afternoon, singing from a neighbour's tree and individually perching on the other neighbour's TV aerial and belting out their tune! π₯°

Yes, and these birds are indefatigable during our summers, pausing to sing on boughs and aerials for extended periods throughout the day. Believed to have cost the species dearly in the 19th C. as they were caged with the intention I suppose of domesticating their song. Horrible to contemplate.
