I do seriously love the technology underlying this, but man it's kinda scary the amount of people online I've seen who have entered into genuine relationships with their LLMs.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think human brains are unique in their capacity to hold a "person", and you could have the same or similar software on different "hardware", but I don't think LLMs are there yet and it just kinda scares me how many people get emotionally invested in our current models

I'm not a total AI doomer, this stuff is inevitable so we may as well roll with it and steer it in right direction, get the most we can out of it. And Im not against using it as interactive porn or interactive stories, both things that already exist and are okay so long as people
