No, he’s out of there. You don’t go back to a job that toxic. He wouldn’t be allowed to function and he’d be miserable. The question for him is where to go in the private sector. That should be lucrative for him if he can find the right slot.

You read the word “lost” as “gone”; I read it as “didn’t emerge victorious”. Sure he is out of a job, but ultimately will win. I think he will get a major payout and find a good job, AND still bring sunlight to the nefarious action of the Trump administration: win-win-win.
