Star Wars Starfighter (currently in production for a planned May 2027 release) appears to be the first film that is not directly connected to the rest of the saga (even Rogue One and Solo revolve around events and characters from older films, and the Mando film is a sequel). And that's cool.
I paid real money at a cinema to go and see Solo. Apart from dabbling with a few episodes of Madalorin (then bailing), I haven't touched a Star Wars thing since. Has anything come close to the more grown-up feel and quality of Empire Strikes Back? If so, I might be tempted to re-visit the universe.

We can only hope that the film lives up to this opportunity to expand the universe on the big screen. 🤞 And that the audience gets on board. Because the success or failure of this film could determine the direction of this galaxy for the 2030s.
If there's one actor I'd definitely like to see starring in a Star Wars movie, it's Ryan Gosling. I have high expectations with the project
TBH, stories in no way related to the Skywalker Saga is the only way to keep me interested. Similarly, a Star Trek series that doesn't even MENTION Kirk, Spock or the Enterprise, just once, would be nice.
After eveyrthing the franchise has crapped out, I woudn't be suprised if it sucks. Ten bucks says it gets canceld after the mando film flops. #starwarsisdead
