Yes, that is well known. The post says the UK, but the term should be ignored, they are countries, they are not the property of England, not a single part of them.

England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all constituent parts of the UK. Beyond my country's treaty agreements with the UK, their constitutional arrangements are their own business.

To be honest, speaking as a non English person, when I hear you say "I hear UK, I think England," you just sound ignorant. This is what people say to me often when I'm abroad and it's always a marker of ignorance. Physician heal thyself innit
