Beautiful but slightly grotesque, just like life. They look delicious! We've never dried them before, just jams and desserts (and trays in the freezer to make more jams and desserts in the winter). My interest is piqued!

Ill keep you posted, this is the first time we've tried dehydrating them. Could be beautiful...could be grotesque lol
Fig leather?
Fig jerky! 😆
Stunning color. We get figs from our neighbor's tree, as the branches hang over our fence. Beautiful green ones with lush pink interiors but nowhere near as vibrant as those!
Thank you! Our tree is still quite young so Im hoping we get more as the years go by.
Figs are my fave fruit; fave scent! fave spread, fave cooking ingredient! Yours look delicious! What kind are these? I just planted my first (from a cutting) black Madeira. I imagine it will be 10 years before I have fruit!
Thanks, Wendy! 🤍 I bet you will see fruit in less than 5...especially if shes in the sun. This one is a brown turkey fig and shes about 6 or 7.
You’re welcome! Thank you for letting me know re: when I might expect fruit! I was so excited that this cutting actually took and is now growing in the garden (albeit hidden beneath tall zinnias) without much coddling. I didn’t want it to bake in this, it’s 1st summer!
Good luck, I hope it grows happily! And you'll be able to make more fig cuttings now 😍
Thank you!!! 😚
