Like the Democrats have benefited HEAVILY from having a left in the country that works on issues that they like to run on, but since they decided to back a genocide they lost a lot of that organizing capacity

I’m mainly talking about politicians and I’d say with very tiny exceptions most are not on the left and those that are have to compromise those values to stay in the party - I’m not demonizing anyone though I’m just pointing out the problem that occurred

Have a handful of lefty friends who begrudgingly knocked doors in Arizona or made calls for her in Michigan but couldn’t bring themselves to vote for her here in CA. I know even more people who would’ve done a lot more for her if she had committed to ending the genocide.

Harris giving the party a boost kinda covered up the biggest reason I was hopeless for a win with Biden: while most people were still going to vote, I saw SO MANY people who usually dedicated LABOR, saying they just couldn't bring themselves to do it this time because of the associated complicity

It wasn't just Gaza either. I followed a bunch of people who did organizing to get disabled people to polls in 2020. About half didn't this time because bringing up needing covid precautions, even in the context of poll inaccessibility, would get you dogpiled with "oh so you want trump" *3 yrs ago*
