‘Profound and Abiding Rage’: Canada’s Answer to America’s Abandonment www.nytimes.com/2025/08/10/o... —- Trump alienation of Canada with illegal threats of economic warfare or even military intervention are humiliating. Make no sense. Should be cause for removal from office.

It makes sense when you realize the Republicans are destroying the country on purpose. In order to sell the remaining scraps of it to billionaires/private equity.

I can vouch for the veracity of this. It should be a profound clarion call for Americans. It doesn't seem to be. Canadians aren't just angry, defiant, disappointed, they are looking at our friends, family, neighbors down south and genuinely asking, what the f#$k is wrong with you? It's just...

Saw no Canadian license plates in Northern Maine when I was there in June. Would see plenty of plates each day when I lived there 2011-16. Our northern neighbors are boycotting the USA due to ICE harassment, jingoistic threats, and economic warfare.

We (Americans) could sort of shrug off Trump 1.0 as a fluke, especially since he didn’t win the popular vote, but we can’t shrug off Trump 2.0. This is who we wanted, which sickens me beyond expression. It will take a generation to recover—if we can.
