So. Parliament's response to 2 'gender critical' activists harassing a woman in the bathroom... is to pander to the aggressors.

They aren't pandering. Parliament has become the aggressors themselves.
Interesting timing.....but a perfect opportunity to combine a "pee protest" with the mass lobby on Wednesday. I suppose all the trans men will have to use the ladies & the trans women will have to use the gents. Go in groups. Drink plenty of water folks its gonna be hot. Take wet wipes ladies 🫣.
That's just complying. Suggest all the trans women use the women's and trans men use the men's.
and refuse to get off the seat unless blackrod themselves need the loo
It is, but when the gents in the seat of power are suddenly filled with women and the ladies with men it will very much highlight the absurdity of the whole situation in a location where protest with any kind of paraphernalia is neigh on impossible and it's not a protest, It's what they require.
Upon reflection I get it. If we go in the loos as we should, they would class us as the aggressors. If we use the loo of biological sex, with men in the women's and women in the men's, then it highlights the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
My stance with the mass lobby was not to encourage or even suggest protest during it. That is not what the lobby is for and it would distract and take away from it's impact and intent, possibly undermine it entirely. But now they made our very existence in parliament a protest no matter what we do.
I personally have no problem with Robin in male toilets. We are a tolerant race so Robin has no problem using one that is legally allowed.
Go fuck yourself straight to hell.
How wonderful that you feel safe and that your privilege remains intact.
Who was frightened of gc legal action then?
F***ing shithole country.
It doesn't need to be like this. Help us challenge judgment on trans rights 👇 goodlaw.social/b9a91e
Donated. I already give a regular donation to the good law project and I am so pleased to see you take this up. It is truly horrific that it has come to this in our country.
Statistically, people should be more worried about sharing a toilet with an MP than someone who is trans.
This action knowingly and symbolically plants a fascist flag atop our own Parliament. It is meant both as a message to tell the British people what they are meant to be, and a test, to see if people are prepared to resist fascists at the heart of government.
Well, she obviously can’t go into the men’s toilets! Where is she supposed to go?
There are f, m, and gender-neutral facilities in Parliament. Robin can use two of those without causing any problems.
Ah ok, gender-neutral is a good idea.
They don't care.
It amazes me that parliament can interpret a very distinct and finite ruling and extrapolate it to make the lives of people (whose lives have most likely not been a breeze) even worse. It is a despicable cruel action with far reaching societal consequences. Shameful.
Predatory men have a myriad of opportunities to attack/assault a female. Why on earth would anyone put themselves through the stress and mental agony of transitioning simply to use a female toilet? I know with whom I would rather share a space.
And she'll be welcomed in the men's room will she?
The whole fucking world is going backwards!
Utterly disgraceful decision by parliament.
Given the number of male MPs that have been accused of sexual assault over the last few years, this seems incredibly dangerous for trans women
If I were a man in a men’s room and she walked in I would be wondering why there’s a woman in the men’s room. If Elliot Page walked into the lady’s room I’d wonder why there’s a man in there. These fucking transphobes are hateful and flaunting their illogical rules is a way to flex power.
UK!! What the actual fuck? I thought the U.S. was the only place where bigots harassed women trying to pee. Snap to it!!
Nope, we've caught up and overtaken the worst states in the US. It's grim here.
I’ve joked about immigrating to the UK. Holding out hope for Finland?
Bad news, I'm afraid. Dr. Kaltiala runs a lot of healthcare there, and she's a monster. Maybe try Germany? They still believe in evidence based healthcare.
Spain seems to be a good choice at the moment. The Rainbow Map might be a useful tool. rainbowmap.ilga-europe.org
No, the Land of Hope and Glory has also returned to the neanderthal age, aided by the mighty orange one.
Fucking shame.
If you have a GRC then you can still use the women's toilet. Toilet provision isn't part of the EA2010 and the GRA2004 still applies. Anyone challenging you who isn't removed puts the Parliament estate in breach of the EA2010 for harassment.
This breaks my heart.
So biologically female MPs now have to share the bathroom with trans men?
Not necessarily. If trans men look masculine enough they can be banned from both the men’s and ladies toilets. Yes, I know.
We need to go full Ally McBeal. One large bathroom for all genders.
