Yes! In sports (or any field of endeavor), “I won’t employ Black people” also means “I will ignore people’s talents simply because of the color of their skin.” It’s not just stupid, it’s self-defeating.

Yep, he had to have "his guys", which apparently didn't include all time good guy Mike Alstott and others. I will always be thankful for that Super Bowl but always pissed about how he systematically dismantled that amazing team afterwards.
Yeah, there's a reason you don't find a whole lot of Bucs fans who actually like Gruden. I kind of think the reason he dismantled the roster was because he couldn't stand it that sports radio callers loved to talk about him winning the Super Bowl with Tony Dungy's team, so he decided to destroy it.
Yeah, none of us considered it Gruden’s Super Bowl, especially the way they treated Tony Dungy, firing him at 4am for the crime of leading the Bucs to the playoffs and losing. It was Dungy’s squad and Monte Kiffin’s defense that won it.
