It’s not actually about trans women playing sports. That’s just the talking point which landed with the most people, so they’ll ride it until they fully exile trans people from public life. Even the woman who links everything back to her own experience competing against a trans woman admits it

Saying we refuse to give on ANY issue because it would set the whole edifice to crumbling is not a strategy. Nor does it consider the values and priorites of many trans ppl who would choose safety and lowering of temp, over pushing for everything today.

Sadly when a transwoman or girl competes in sports, it ultimately results in a “negative sum game” and has inadvertently provided the far-right exactly the pry point to exploit us. Should the individual strive to win a competition and succeeds, it will be viewed as unfair to other females.

She tied for 5th place. With a transgender swimmer. She lost to 4 other women. She was ranked 85th in Olympic trials. A pool noodle was 84th.
