Was the hype a little too much? Yes it was, but let’s not blame the kid for that part of this. Manning should have played better, but his coach didn’t help him either. In order for this to be a successful season for Texas, both of them have to play and coach better.
Your criticism of Arch Manning is a little too harsh for my taste, considering the fact that this was his first full start. And it is certainly not fair to leave his coach out of the discussion, especially when he was much more responsible for the loss than he was.
