After hurricane Sandy it was pretty clear that the MTA needed extra funding to prepare for dealing with extreme weather. Instead of helping improve the subway infrastructure Andrew Cuomo dipped into the MTA budget to bail out upstate ski resorts.

Remember how in 2019 Cuomo paid some consultants $4 mil to come up with a “makeover plan” ie fire a bunch of MTA employees? Which directly resulted in staff shortages that led to slower commute times and bus delays? And it was a last minute deal thrown at the legislature without time for discussion…
