Wait a minute. These bills are not as dangerous as they seem to you! Unlike SOPA and PIPA which targeted ALL online piracy, both foreign and domestic, these bills are specifically aimed at foreign service providers who are involved in pirating U.S. intellectual property.

The real threat they're going after here, I believe, is Russians and Chinese and others bootlegging American materials and uploading their illegal copies of them to all manner of sites and servers based in their own countries. As such, "foreign" is one of the key words in the message you posted.

Uh, no? The foreign websites will still be up, just not accessible by people using US-based ISPs. As of right now ISPs throttle your internet connection if there's constant copyright complaints. With these bills they can theoretically penalize you for using a VPN to circumvent this.

Yeah that's bad because they'll be punishing the end user when all is said and done because it's the cheapest way to enforce this. Whether its "foreign" or not is irrelevant.
