Well that means that everybody's going to witness him dying and losing his shit even more than he is now. And eventually he's going to have to realize that it's happening and he's going to be even more embarrassed by that.

Yes but narcissists don’t admit to being embarrassed even to themselves. They just gaslight harder. So he may disappear from the public eye and post photos of him looking well but he is not going to give up his position. It will take someone tricking him out of it. He will not do it willingly.
