It's not even something that anybody else is joining in on from his side. They're all doing the exact opposite and he's the only one voting that way or trying this hard. It's interesting to me. He's not our friend but clearly he has his own motivation.

He already burned bridges with Trump over the budget, so he doesn't have anything to lose by pushing this. And if the files really do depose the wannabe-king, Massie stands to gain a lot.

It's not even the first time either with the budget. He's been doing this for a long time. He seems to have really shitty views and believe in some really terrible things but he can't be swayed once he thinks what he thinks. So he's principled even though his principles most of the time suck lol.

Yep. I hate most of what he stands for, but at least he isn't just a sycophantic toady.

Yeah that's exactly what I was trying to get to and trying to figure out. I was wondering if anyone else saw it because it's at least something for now. Like his views are really actually kind of crazy too so he would never go anywhere but still. He still seems to be calling out the con.

Massie is a true believer deficit hawk libertarian. Trump is a tax (read: tariff) and spend (gold tchotchkes and military) populist who cares not for states rights. There is no logical way for those two to be on the same team.

And there are others like him but for some reason they still given up and did what he wanted them to do. He's the only holdout. Crazy.

Most of the others who could not abide have either capitulated or noped out of Congress altogether. He's the tallest poppy at the moment. It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

The part about him gaining a lot is what I'm interested in because that's what I think is his motivation so that's what makes me curious about the whole thing even more. Because somebody is trying to break through even if it's somebody who's crappy like him lol.

I gotta give him credit for at least having a spine. And he has signed on to some bipartisan bills too. If a dozen or two so of his colleagues did the same thing, we might could see the maga coalition lose some of its lustre.

That's the part that I'm interested in right there. Sometimes he has a really stupid vote but he's like literally one of the only ones and that's bad. But if he could vote with the Democrats more and maybe influence other people that would be good. We'll see.

I have to wonder if there’s a Russia connection, considering it’s Kentucky.

www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol... I’m guessing if you’ve got the Kremlin and the mafia on your side, you’re taking orders from RU, and you’re not afraid of DJT.

Oh yeah, none of the possible contenders to replace Trumpism are good news for Ukraine. I was just thinking about that this weekend, imagining if Vance were to take over. 😬

Russian state tv often mocks president convicted felon. I’m certain there are RU operatives in Congress that are doing the same thing to him here, or at least reminding him of his obligations, to keep him in line. Eventually Putin will dispose of Trump, there will need to be a loyal successor.

He's too messed up to be at that stature. He wouldn't be popular enough. He's not likeable to most people I'm sure. But with these people I don't know. I can't make any determination because they're just fucking useless and crazy and stupid.
