I guess the maintenance on it was ridiculous. Great way to spend taxpayers money. Just to get it ready would be an enormous expense to taxpayers. He is fixated on prisons and convincing his base every alien except Elon is a murderer when in reality they are the hardest working people.

Not to mention the fact it’s a popular national historic site now that hosts around 1.6 million visitors per year, whereas it only had a capacity of about 340 prisoners when it was in operation.
