Honest to god you would be shocked at the number of people who didn’t know that raising tariffs is like the most inflationary thing any government can do. And they didn’t know that because the press completely abrogated its duty to the American people.
Voters are adults. We are responsible for educating ourselves. I'm not here to enable lazy shits who don't really comprehend that elections have consequences and don't seek out information because they want it spoon fed to them. This is easier than ever to do but critical thinking is hard I guess.
The founders knew voters depended on the press to be informed. Voters don't have the money, time, and resources to press out key relevant information. If not, why would the press even exist. Instead the press dropped the ball and even played for the fascists side.
That's like saying the second amendment encompasses modern firearms. Getting information today is exponentially easier than it was 250 years ago. Come on, be real.
This is why Republicans have fought to defund education at all levels. Not just so that people don't learn anything, but that they don't have the skills to learn or question what Conservatives want to spoon feed them.
