... while Putin sees Ukraine's accession to the EU, and eventually NATO, as the last nail in the coffin to his ambitions to be remembered as the leader who restored the Russian sphere of influence. This is where Trump's and Putin's interests overlap.
Trump is not an ally to the EU, if anything, he's an ally to Putin to the extent of breaking up or severely crippling the EU.
