... and Putin's successor might be not be friendly to Trump & MAGA. If the war ended in Russia's favour, Putin might reinforce the bond with China and the BRICS, and, coming out as a victor, attract arms purchases away from the US.

If the war continues, on the other hand, Putin and the EU depend on Trump's whims, and Europe has to purchase huge amounts of US weaponry that can be "switched off" from Washington. Not to mention the purchase of LPG from the US, to replace the Russian gas.
