This would actually be an awesome idea. It would be great to have sources inside the US along with UKs NHS, Canada's NIHR, or Australia's NHMRC etc to get vaccine and health advice from in English. At this point, the FDA, the CDC, and the NIH are suspected of passing politics as health information.

Would love to see some blue states band together and do this together.

States don’t send the federal government money in that manner. The U.S. Treasury also has an expansive powers to pull back any monies in order to pay monies owed to them. It’s a good idea but frankly no means to execute.

Ventura County would welcome CDC scientists, and we have Amgen located here so there’s already a scientific community. We also have year-round weather around 71 degrees, sunny days, beaches and mountains. We’re next to Los Angeles if you want more culture, and LAX is less than 60 miles away.

As a resident of Ventura County I agree. 😀 I also suggest near UCSB since there are dozens of biotech firms near there. ( I worked for two based in Goleta.)

We need SB 829 (Scott Weiner); it protects scientific advancement in CA. It establishes CISR to award grants & make loans to public or private research companies, universities, institutes, & organizations for scientific research & development; authorizes the state to produce & distribute vaccines.

This would be much easier if we took back our federal tax dollars and funded all of our programs ourselves. We get $83.5B less back in spending than the states residents pay in federal taxes, and that’s even with the federal government spending way more than they get in taxes overall!

Will be useful when Cali becomes its own country, after Trump tries to sell the state to China...

Let's make the West coast be a medical travel destination, Scientists, researchers, technicians, Doctors, nurses all need a modern thinking society, and we need them. Canada, the EU etc... are recruiting some of our best, and who can blame them ? Offer safety, security and no dark ages

Both of those locations suffer from 100% buildout and F-level traffic conditions at almost all hours, not just rush hour. The Central Valley has open land, relatively low costs, an able workforce, room to expand, and the best-kept-secret ski area in the nation.

A CCDC would be a great anchor for the new Ca High Speed Rail system too. Allowing employees to live up and down the entire 300 miles of the valley.
