Why is a Hallmark movie being played on their rival network? The network CCB jumped to because Hallmark now has one Hanukkah movie, one movie with a gay lead, and usually one movie with a non-white lead. Very interesting. @aduralde.bsky.social you got any insight? #DeckTheHallmark

Probably a question for @sleepykittypaw.bsky.social but I would guess the film in question (not knowing what it is) was made by an outside production company, had its moment on Hallmark, and then when that deal expired, GAC swept it up.

In pre-streaming days, Hallmark’s rights contracts with production companies less comprehensive, with distribution reverting back to production companies after 3-7 years. But, to be fair, GAF is Hallmark’s “competition” in the same sense I’m “competing” with Entertainment Weekly…As in, not at all.
