YEAH, the Illinois-to-denver stretch is a LOT

How do you feel after a 16 hours ride? I only have cycling to compare with (24HB charity ride) and it's kinda brutal. No push pedals on your bike tho and you're moving just slightly faster :-P

Honestly, not as bad as you'd expect! We seem to hit a point a pit 8-ish hours in, where our bodies just start to ignore the little pains and discomforts. We get to our destination and look at the clock and go "holy cow that didn't feel like 12, 13, 14 hours" XD
