truly. the riparian preserve behind my house has all sorts of wildlife that reminds me of Costa Rica. one need merely stay alert, look, and listen.

Giant walking stick, about 20cm long. Green and waxy sheen. Longhorn beetle with a back that looks like stained, distressed wood Haldeman’s potato beetle, iridescent green Rough green snake by the river’s edge. It’s emerald green and about 1.2m long.

yeah. thanks. it’s not like Costa, where the wildlife comes to you. it’s more shy and less exotic. but it’s there.
