Like I said, we vote every time. But when my neighborhood in urban Austin is in a district with rural ranchers 400 miles away, as you might imagine, our needs are ignored. When I lived in DE and we had one rep for the whole state (who happened to be an R), I had better representation.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I don't know what it's like, but I suspected that elections in Texas are manipulated to the point that they barely matter.
In most places the only election that is competitive is the R primary. And that just a who can be more crazy contest.
