The whitewashing of 1/6 is insane. Ya know how I know it was the worst day in US history since 9/11? I worked at a call center at that time and tracked calls by 15 minute increments. We normally took 8,000 calls a day. That day was normal, until it wasn’t. Calls completely dried up.
Up until 1:30 or so it was a normal day. About 200 calls per 15 minutes. The moment the news broke in with images of rioters pushing past police we dropped to less than 50 calls every 15 minutes. Once pence was pulled from the floor of the senate, we dropped to less than 10 calls.
We need to bring back shame, and make it physical

Yeah, I was part of the workforce team so I wasn’t taking calls. But calls completely stopped, because everyone was watching the news. It was our slowest weekday in like 8 years, when we had a quarter of the staff.
