Not up to Newsom but the voters of CA. I think we will come though and erase Texas's gain here.

As a Texan, I have signed up to call CA voters about this ballot measure and ask your help in stopping this fascism from going national - they will do all this stuff & more nationally if they can. Texas is a testing ground.

As axTexan, do you happen to know why all but 1 D legislator signed that “permission slip” allowing 1 cop/D legislator? I know why she did not. Why did they sign?

From the interview with her, no one knew about this punishment until it was announced (nothing like this was done in the past). It apparently didn't occur to them to refuse ... and I'm sure many of them wanted to go home. I get that its disappointing AND the Rs are the baddies here.
