Why is MSNBC paying John Kasich to blame both sides for the gerrymandering mess when it's clearly driven by Republican mischief? Democrats want a fair, independent process; Republicans want to keep stealing political power from voters of color. It's obvious.
Democrats are guilty of gerrymandering too. Illinois and Maryland are prime examples. R's have pursued it harder, but D's have dirty hands too.

I live in NJ-2. The dems wrote this district off in order to shore up the neighboring blue districts. As a result, we've been stuck with Jeff "I see dead people" VanDrew. No one's hands are clean in this. Even states with citizen commissions like ours can do better.
