This agreement has been violated too many times. We need to honor their trust.
This agreement has been violated too many times. We need to honor their trust.
Putin can NEVER be trusted! And for that matter neither can Chump!😈
Former POTUS J. Adams once said. " There are only two creatures of value on this Earth (I). Those with a commitment and those who require a commitment of others "
This is TRUE!!!!
Step up American you gave your word
This, right here. Thanks for posting.
That was before Trump who does not have the word honour in his vocabulary.
We may seriously wonder if “the U.S.” means something nowadays…
Putin complains that he did not personally agree to this, therefore he shouldn't be bound by it.
Funny, that's what Trump said too.
The new security resolution should mean that Ukraine gets their nuclear weapons back.
And full NATO membership if they want it.
So you want to have the Cuban Missile Crisis, only in Ukraine? That’s sensible.
No. But Russia is a constant threat to Ukraine. As long as the Putin/Medvedev regime is in play... they are sitting ducks and that is insane.
The Ukraine stans are nuts. Worse than Bush-era neocons.
Security assurances mean nothing to Putin.
Trump is to America as Yanukovych is to Ukraine.
This moment in time is a heads up to all those countries thinking about a nuclear option for deterrence…..DO IT! Stealthily, purposefully and efficiently, but do it asap. The world is a shit show and those who cannot defend themselves will be the ones covered in shit when it hits the fan!
possibly the best comment/post today
He does for sure, but no country will ever trust us again after the backstabbing that this country has done. Any credibility we had is now gone.
I'd like to think most countries already know we think we're the goddam traffic police of the world. Gladis fking Kravitz with her nose in the neighbors window
Perfect analogy!
Kinda ages me doesn't it
Same here considering I knew who you were talking about.
Gracefully though. I’m right there with you. And it’s an excellent analogy!!
America's word does mean nothing now. Even its closest allies cannot take any agreement in good faith because every 4 years it may be abandoned. Those days are over.
His lack of honor dishonors us all.
Ask any of the indigenous tribes (that are left) in America about The Government "honoring" treaties. A nation built by enslaved people on stolen land.
Why Putin had to wait to invade again while Biden was POTUS T is an actor who plays a criminal ally of Putin since the Russian mob banks in NYC bailed him out in the 80's It's their show. They played the long game. Only Putin & Criminal POTUS win at the end of their scripts
Hahaha
As does Russia.
That’s a point most of the people tend to forget. For me one of the most important points. Everything since 2014 is a breach of international law. The US and Europe were to weak at the time to hold that position. The consequences we see today.
Fuckin’ ay.
Just a reminder… youtu.be/V60uwLZQw8E
Russia and the UK also signed that.
Yep but it was never an actual treaty ratified by the Senate. So it carries as much weight as our promises to Russia to not to expand NATO. Ukraine is treated as a pawn by Russia and the West.
Give them back their nukes along with the ability to deploy them to Moscow. The war would end immediately.
Trump abandoned the Kurds, or the guys that keep our soldiers safer in Northern Iraq. Trump left the interpreters that risked themselves and their families to help us in Afghanistan. Why would his abandoning of Ukraine be any different.
It wouldn't be different at all. I'd never trust any deal made with this administration, Trump could stab you in the back at any time.
It lowers all future trust in the US. A good administration could make promises, but they'll never know whether the next election will bring fascism with Confederate characteristics back again.
Exactly!
Then nothing like electing someone that is incapable of keeping his word
Russia also signed that agreement and guaranteed Ukrainian security. They don't trust either superpower now.
Preach
Why didn’t Obama intervene when they annexed Crimea
That is actually a very good question 🤔 I always felt that was a huge mistake!
“There is a reason why there was not an armed invasion of Crimea. Because Crimea was full of Russian speakers, and there was some sympathy to the view that Russia was representing its interest.” Crimea and Donetsk both are predominantly populated by ethnic Russians who speak Russian, not Ukrainian
Speaking Russian doesn't make you Russian. If it did the USA would be British territory!
They are ethnic Russians who speak Russian.
They can still be Ukrainian nationalist, especially if they've experienced Muscovite occupation - oppression, corruption, prices 3x higher than in Russia, no public services, people snatched off the street and sent into suicidal assaults without training.
Ethnic Russians who speak Russian and voted to be annexed by Russia but secretly Ukrainian nationalist
In a non-secret vote with Moscow's thugs watching you, and counting the votes.
I think part of the problem is that you don’t draw a distinction between ethnic Ukrainians and ethnic Russians and you see them all as just white people speaking different dialects. When in reality this is like ethnic Palestinians living in Israel-controlled Gaza.
You have one ethnic group being controlled by the borders of another. The parts of Ukraine that are predominantly populated with Ethnic Russians want to be annexed, but the controlling ethnic group, the Ukrainians, are preventing that.
I'm not sure, I can only go by what he said in the post I'll share.
B/c the case was always that Russia was willing to go to war over Ukraine, but the West was not. That's why Obama never sent Javelins, trying to not provoke a war. But then Trump's dumb ass sent them. And Biden's dumb ass pushed for NATO membership, which was always a known redline.
You sure don’t hear the media talking about it or asking the Trump regime to address.
Yes...they were signatories to the Budapest accord. This is how we know p00tin's word is good for nothing.
Well, it hasn't for well over 100 years... Just ask the Native Americans and the POC
That ship has sailed, and anybody with any sense ought to wave goodbye and get on with that reality.
This is how we get nuclear proliferation. Nobody's going to accept an unreliable nuclear umbrella.
