Canada must plan for the worst to hope for the best. The worst is that the United States invades Canada and Canada has to defend itself without fighting allies. This is exactly the situation with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – and the Trump regime is a copy of the Putin regime.
If Trump wants to start a civil war in the US, then he shall try to attack Canada.
Canada’s greatest strength in the coming conflict is the unity of its people and their willingness to make sacrifices for the greater good. Canada’s greatest weakness is institutional cowardice. Out of fear, politicians, bureaucrats and the military avoid risk and refuse to act.
Let's hope that a future Nordic 6 (5 + Canada) cooperation as introduced last week and being part of a NATO 2.0 (..a Coaliton of the Willling) could sort out the Arctic and any US ambition/hunger for expansion. USA listen. Greenland and Canada won't be your 1938 Austria!
